KENNEBEC SAVINGS BANK EMPLOYEES GIVE RECORD AMOUNT TO LOCAL CHARITY
Mark L. Johnston, President and CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank (KSB), recently announced the totals raised for the bankwide United Way Campaign. For nine years, the three offices of Kennebec Savings Bank, located in Augusta, Waterville, and Winthrop, have participated in an internal campaign for the United Ways of Mid-Maine and Kennebec Valley.
Kennebec Savings Bank employees collectively contributed $43,880, a 14% increase over last year. The Bank provided a corporate gift of $36,130 for a total United Way Campaign of $80,010.
President and CEO, Mark Johnston, spoke highly of the generous efforts of the Bank’s employees year after year, “I take pride in knowing the people in this organization truly care about the other members of the community and offer a helping hand very willingly.”
This year’s internal campaign called “Pick up the Pace,” was themed around Health & Fitness and aimed at encouraging employees to increase their personal pledges to the United Way. Prizes for involvement included New Balance and Olympia Sports gift certificates, as well as a grand prize drawing open to all participants for a Nintendo Wii Fit System.
Laura J. Hudson, the Bank’s Vice President & Marketing Officer, said that the theme not only helps with participation, but adds ‘buzz’ to the campaign. “We work hard to let our employees know how much we appreciate their personal commitment to this,” she said. “Employees, in many cases, give beyond their means because they’ve been touched either directly or indirectly by a United Way partner agency.” Hudson noted that employee commitment mirrors the Bank’s commitment to the communities in the Kennebec Valley.
Kennebec Savings Bank is a $713 million state-chartered mutual savings bank with a team of 82 employees and branches in Augusta, Waterville, and Winthrop, and two
24-hour electronic banking centers called KSB Anytime, one on Route 202 in Manchester and one in the Augusta foyer. We are proud to the bank where “the feeling is mutual” and proud to soon be opening a new branch in Gardiner!
