LOCAL RESIDENT GETS NATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Mary A. Hammond, Vice President & Human Resources Officer of Kennebec Savings Bank, recently announced that Amos M. Bryon, Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, has successfully completed all the requirements of the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association (ABA) Institute of Certified Bankers.
The CTFA is for advisors with estate planning and trust expertise. Candidates for this designation must have experience in personal trusts and must complete a four-hour exam, covering fiduciary and trust activities, tax law and tax planning, investments management and financial planning. Designees must also sign a professional code of ethics and complete forty-five hours of continuing education every 3 years.
Hammond said of the certification, “"The CTFA designation provides an additional level of comfort to our clients that we are professionals trained in the trust and financial services industry who are committed to keeping current on issues that impact our clients."
Byron came to the Bank in 2000, and is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Bank’s investment and trust activities. Amos was formerly a relationship administrator for Fleet Investment Services. He graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance. Byron is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School, which is a three-year program focusing on personal trust administration development. Amos and his wife, Kelly, live in Farmingdale with their two sons, Max and Alec.
