KENNEBEC SAVINGS BANK PROMOTES LOCAL RESIDENT

JANUARY, 2008: AUGUSTA, ME - Mark L. Johnston, President & CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank, recently announced the promotion of Andrew E. Silsby to Senior Vice President & Treasurer. Silsby is employed at the Bank’s main office on 150 State Street in Augusta.

Andrew has been part of the Kennebec Savings Bank family since 1993, when he was hired as Loan Officer. He came to the Bank with a great deal of experience from (then) Fleet Bank, as a Branch Manager.

During the ensuing seven years, Andrew steadily increased his responsibilities and roles at the Bank, being promoted three times – to Assistant Vice President in 1995; to Vice President in 1997; and to Vice President & Senior Loan Officer in 2000.  This most recent promotion to Senior Vice President & Treasurer is a direct result of his capabilities and commitment to KSB.

Silsby’s responsibilites include oversight of facilities and maintenance, bank operations and computer information systems, in addition to managing the financial end of the business as Treasurer.

“Andrew has been an integral part of the KSB family from the moment he stepped foot in the building,” said Johnston.  “He has always cared about KSB beyond his job responsibilities, and has always gone well beyond the call of duty in making sure the Bank maintains its status and role in the Kennebec Valley.”

Silsby is an Augusta, Maine native, graduating from Maranacook High School and attending the University of Maine at Orono.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree, with a concentration in marketing and management.  Very active in the community, Andrew is involved with many organizations, including the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Kennebec Valley, Old Fort Western, and the Maine Association of Community Bankers’ legislative committee.   Andrew and his wife, Kim, have three children and reside in Augusta.

Kennebec Savings Bank is a $620 million state-chartered mutual savings bank with over 75 employees and locations in Augusta, Waterville, and Winthrop, as well as a 24-hour electronic banking center, KSB Anytime, in Manchester.  Kennebec Savings Bank is proud to be Kennebec County’s community bank since 1870 and the bank where people matter most.
