Spam or unsolicited email as it is also called, has become an epidemic in the email world, and is expected to get worse before it gets better. It was estimated recently that 90% of email received is spam. At Kennebec Savings Bank, we take the threat of spam and its affect on our business very seriously. That's why we have employed SpamLion, a product that stops spam before it gets into our system by only allowing access by validated email addresses.
By taking a moment to hit "reply" to the SpamLion email message you'll get from us the first time you send us an email, you are helping us ensure that there is a real person behind your email address. Plus, you are being added to the list of legitimate email addresses that we want to get emails from. This provides security for the Bank and assurance to you that we are taking steps to keep our systems as efficient and free from spam as possible. Provided your email address doesn't change, you'll only have to do this once.
Thank you in advance for helping us with this increasingly important issue. Please confirm your email address through the SpamLion reply process. If you have other questions about SpamLion, please contact us at (207)622-5801 or click the link below:

Kennebec Savings Bank wants to alert you that there has been an increase in fraudulent email solicitations. This practice is called "phishing" and refers to activities conducted by cyber-criminals who are attempting to gain personal and confidential information from you. They copy the logos and content styles of widely known and respected financial institutions in an attempt to gain a response from the recipient of the email. The recipient may or may not be a customer of that financial institution. Perpetrators of this activity gather email lists similar to what occurs with spamming. Neither the email addresses nor any other data have been compromised from the institutions that have been targeted.
Please do not respond to these requests for information, as your information is not going to legitimate institutions but to those individuals who wish to commit crimes with your personal information. Please contact us at (207)622-5801 if you have questions about emails you receive from us.
